I started a project on my 20th birthday called One Second Every Day. Beginning at my birthday, I take a short video each day for the whole year and put them all together at the end of the year. All the videos are posted here. Check them out!

22 - One Second Every Day

This is the third year that I’ve done my One Second Every Day project. The video linked above is a compilation of short videos that I took daily starting on my 22nd birthday and ending on my 23rd birthday. It’s basically my year summarized in nine and a half minutes. I’ve been doing this since I turned 20 and plan on doing it for as long as possible. This one was a lot of fun to create and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
There’s a simple and powerful idea behind this project; life is best lived by appreciating the present moment. Each day and each moment is God’s gift to you. I was planning on writing something about that, but what jumped out to me as I continued to make this video was a sense of great gratitude for all that happened this year.
Each time I finish a video, I’m amazed to watch all the things that I have experienced, learned, overcome, and enjoyed during that year. It’s a reminder to me about how lucky I’ve been. I’m blessed with the greatest family and friends that mean the world to me. To be able to pursue the sport I love with a terrific group of teammates and coaches is an opportunity very few people have. Finishing an education and starting a career in a field I’m passionate about gives me a chance to dream big and make a difference. Even the little day to day moments that get lost in life’s commotion are hidden blessings to be thankful for. I think God shapes you into the person you are each day through the challenges He gives you and the people He puts in your life. It's refreshing to look at that idea with a set of thankful eyes.
I always close with my favorite pictures from the year. Hopefully you enjoyed this year’s video – stay tuned for the next one!
