It’s now been five years that I’ve been doing my One Second Every Day video. The concept is pretty simple: record a short video every day of the year (I go birthday to birthday and not calendar years) and compile them all together. What results is more or less a representation of my life story, which I always enjoy sharing this every year. I think people are drawn to stories - telling them, listening to them, experiencing them. So thank you for letting me share mine.
Now I don’t post this to boast about leading a fascinating life nor to I try to misrepresent it to appear that way. Life is full of joys and struggles alike, but together these weave the amazing story we know as life. Yes, I’ve got my fair share of trials. For instance, my feeble attempts to run as I continue to recover from spinal surgery can be disheartening at times. There are many aspects of life I would like to be better, but there are far more that have brought great joy. Falling in love with an incredible woman, having the health to travel to some cool places, getting the opportunity to coach and inspire young kids by sharing my passion, having a career where I can educate and influence change in our community - these are all a few of my big blessings this year. I choose to dwell on the positives and trust that there are greater things coming that will make the struggles all worth it.
“Those who wait in the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint.” - Isaiah 40:31
There are so many exciting things this coming year and I look forward to continuing to share!
Afternote: if you’d like to read a New York Times article I was interviewed for, follow this link. I had the opportunity to guide a tour around my plant and share how we achieve landfill free and drive positive environmental influence in our communities. Plus I made my debut as a hand model!
